Simple to Stylish: How to Accessorize Your Tank Tops and T-Shirts

One recent suggestion from a reader and friend was: “Dressing up that plain tank or tee with jewelry.” I couldn’t stop thinking about it after she said it. It seemed like a topic that every woman could relate to during the summertime. Who doesn’t love to be comfy and casual in the summertime? It’s so hot and there’s so many outdoor activities to do! If you dress to the nines, you run a big risk of ruining your outfit or just being overdressed and looking silly. Here are my suggestions for how to make a stylish outfit using your tank tops and t-shirts, simply by using accessories!

  Accessorize Your Tank Tops

I’ll focus on tank tops first. I have to apologize, because I don’t have very many plain tank tops. I didn’t even realize it until I started planning each outfit for this post. I also seem to have my tanks and t-shirts in neutral colors, like black, tan, olive green, and white. These accessory guidelines may seem very simple….but that’s because they are! I bet everyone reading this blog post will be able to easily make these outfits happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if you have these accessories and bottoms in your closets and jewelry boxes right now!

Leather (or Faux-Leather) accessories like this purse and foot-bed sandals lend this look a bohemian chic feel.

Stud earrings, bangles, and scarves can also pair with this look without going overboard.

Multi-strand necklaces and studs look beautiful with a plain tank or your favorite band tank (I love Weezer!).

I’m also wearing a cuff bracelet and high-waist shorts. Any high-waist shorts will do…they don’t have to be denim!

Accessorize Your T-Shirts

In general, I don’t feel like t-shirts need as many accessories. It’s easy to make a t-shirt feel casually cool by just adding a few touches here and there. Black tees and white tees are classic staples for a reason. With sunglasses and jeans, they look ultra glamorous.
